Sojourners Magazine reports “The Nakba, Arabic for ‘catastrophe,’ refers to the 1948 displacement of over 700,000 Palestinians and the destruction of more than 400 villages during the Arab-Israeli war. Many became refugees in neighboring countries or across historic Palestine.
