Commemoration: the Assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (1968).
Almighty God, by the hand of Moses your servant you led your people out of slavery, and made them free at last: Grant that your Church, following the example of your prophet Martin Luther King, may resist oppression in the name of your love, and may secure for all your children the blessed liberty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
The Day of (No) Silence was formerly the Day of Silence, “a national student-led protest of the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ+ people” according to GLSEN (glsen.org/dayofnosilence). International Asexuality Day (since 2021) is a coordinated worldwide campaign promoting the ace umbrella, including demisexual, grey-asexual and other ace identities. The four themes of IAD are Advocacy, Celebration, Education and Solidarity. See internationalasexualityday.org.

Commemoration: the Execution of Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1948).

The International Day of Pink, observed the second Wednesday in April, is a worldwide anti-bullying and anti-homophobia event where participants are encouraged to wear or display a pink shirt, echoing a mass gesture of solidarity with a student subjected to homophobic bullying in Cambridge, Nova Scotia, Canada in 2007.
Sapphic Visibility Day (US) is celebrated to promote term “sapphic” as an identity marker for many women, nonbinary, trans and gender nonconforming folks. Source: Wikipedia.
